Below you will find the policies for VAMUN XLV.
There are a number of forms which Sponsors will be responsible for filling out before the conference begins. These will be updated and sent to sponsors closer to the conference date. Failure to fill out all VAMUN paperwork by the filing deadline may result in prohibition from the conference. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our Secretary General, Saehee.
Position papers will be required for all General Assemblies and Specialized Committees. Position papers will not be required for VAMUN’s crisis committees, WGSS, the advanced GA, and the two Jefferson Committees on Diplomacy (ad-hocs). We will be flexible in grading position papers. Information on submission of position papers will be conveyed to registered schools closer to the conference date. Further information regarding position papers can be found under the Training Modules tab!
All committees, except for WFP, DISEC, WHO [computers allowed] are technology-free. If delegates need to use a personal device as an accommodation, they should email delegations@vamun.org as soon as possible, and certainly before Session I, to resolve the issue. With the exception of the above-listed three committees, if delegates are seen using devices, either for committee or personal use, action may be taken including and not limited to a verbal warning, disqualification from awards, or notification of one’s sponsor.
Prewriting is strictly prohibited. Prewriting does includes any committee activity conducted outside of the session, including individual and collaborative work. Delegates are encouraged to get to know one another outside of the conference sessions in a personal capacity, but committee business is strictly limited to when the committee is in session. If delegates have participated in prewriting, action may be taken including and not limited to a verbal warning, disqualification from awards, or notification of one’s sponsor. Prewriting does not include general research or plans for crisis notes, including when written.
