CEPAL (Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe) was founded in 1948 as one of the five regional committees of the United Nations. Its main goal is to contribute to the economic growth and development growth of Latin America. As such, issues of social development and drug related corruption and instability are presently a main focus for CEPAL.

Chair

Camille Larsen

Camille Larsen is a second year from Sacramento, California. However, she spent most of her childhood living in Puebla, Mexico. Her love for MUN began in seventh grade and has competed since her Junior year of high school. She has attended conferences such as Berkeley MUN and Stanford MUN and staffed VAMUN. At UVa, she is interested in double majoring in Marketing and Philosophy and minoring in Foreign Affairs. Her love for international relations and different cultures has inspired her to become trilingual, and she hopes to speak 5 languages by the time she's 30. She's obsessed with coffee, cats, and music (shoutout to Avril Lavigne and Hoodie Allen). She can't wait to chair the bilingual CEPAL committee and see delegates become passionate about policy and languages!
